Thank you for supporting the 12th Annual Uncorked and Unplugged
Fundraiser. Your generous donations benefit Children's Mentoring
Connection of Hancock County (CMC). Your support allows us to build on
the 46-year-old rich history our agency has in supporting our children.
CMC provides mentoring programming for youth ages 6 - 18, focusing on
ages 6 - 14. Mentoring programs address youth prevention and
development. Children in our Community Program are primarily living with
single parents, grandparents, or other caregivers. Children in our
School-Based programs have been identified by school personnel and
parents/caregivers who would benefit from extra support and guidance in a
school-based setting. Mentoring guarantees young people that there is
someone who cares about them and assists in dealing with day-to-day
challenges. Mentoring connects the mentee to personal growth,
development, and social and economic resources.
1 in 3 young people do not have a mentor. CMC aims to close this
mentoring gap and drive equity through quality mentoring relationships
for young people. For young people, the potential is equally
distributed; the opportunity is not. We strive to connect young people
with opportunities everywhere they are, from schools, community, workplaces and beyond.
The activities and guidelines we provide are the frameworks to allow
these relationships to grow and develop.
CMC is a people-powered program, and our incredible volunteer mentors
are the heart of CMC. Our mentors, along with our extensive list of
community partners and your generosity, allows us to continue to serve
our children at this most critical time. Thank you for supporting our
kids.
